Transient Sky by Sabina Puzey - was painted in response to a fleeting, breathtaking sunset by the ocean—one of those moments where the sky feels alive, shifting and dissolving in real time. Soft coral pinks, warm golds and muted blues moved through the clouds in sweeping, fluid motions, as if everything—light, air, colour—was folding into itself.
The painting is intentionally loose and expressive. Created quickly and intuitively, it focuses on capturing the movement and energy of the sky rather than a literal scene. Brushstrokes are visible and gestural, allowing colours to blend and break apart across the surface, echoing the way the clouds seemed to swirl and morph. The darker green tree forms, classic to Cottesloe Beach, grounds the composition, offering a quiet contrast to the openness above.
This is an original acrylic painting on canvas. The surface has a raw, textured quality that reflects the immediacy of the moment it was created.
The canvas is stretched and ready to hang, making it easy to place straight into a space. It would suit a calm, light-filled room—bringing warmth, movement and a sense of quiet awe into everyday surroundings.
