Hydrangeas is a painting which took me a long time to complete. It was a beautiful experience in curiosity, exploration and never giving up. It was a painting I continued to overwork and had to explore how to pull things back and bring breath, air and peace into the present moment, into what is.
When I look at this piece it feels like a moment of grandeur due to its scale. It feels settled & secure, that feeling you get when you sigh in relief… that is how I feel when I look at this piece. It brings smile to my mouth and eyes. My hope is it offers you something of equal grandeur.
