Autumn is an abstracted scene from one of my favourite parts of my garden. No matter what I am feeling, walking through the wisteria archway, boots crunching on petals and leaves long since fallen, there is a sense of peace and ease and home that fills me. I love listening to the wind sing through the leaves and watch them slowly dislodge and dance in the air on their way down. I receive so much comfort from my garden, so much joy from watching all the varying colours in autumn, and this painting is my ode to that. So even when I am not in my garden, I can be near it, receiving its medicine wherever I go.
The painting has been professionally hung with the sides still part of the painting which I just love. Like a gift that keeps on giving, the endlessness of nature moving through seasons. We may end, but Mother Nature doesn’t.
